Blockbuster Movies Worth a Theater Trip this Summer

Summer is here, and there are blockbusters to look forward to in the cinema, but is it worth heading out to the movie theater this year or staying at home and streaming content instead? If you are trying to decide, you are in the right place. In this article, you can get an idea of some of the movies you can expect this summer. Read on and pick your dates for a summer movie trip.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume III

Guardians of the Galaxy is back with possibly the final installment of adventures from the rag-tag team of extraterrestrials. As ever, the team encounters an existential threat that sends them on their personal adventures to uncover secrets of the galaxy and secrets in themselves.

If you are wondering whether this third installment of the franchise is worth a trip to the cinema this summer, the answer is a definitive yes. The summer season should deliver an entertaining, humorous, action-packed movie for people who want to watch movies about the end of times

Love Again

There is nothing quite like a romantic comedy for the summer season, and Love Again is something to enjoy this year. Love Again follows Mira Ray, who is struggling to cope with the death of her fiancĂ© and stumbles into an unusual situation that leads to romance once again.

Love Again is a love story with a difference. Having sent some beautifully written text messages to the reassigned number of her former lover, they are picked up by a journalist on the trail of Celine Dion. The investigation leads to love and offers the perfect romance for the summer.

Blackberry

Young people today use smartphones without thinking much about where they came from or a time when there was no other way to get in touch with friends and family other than to contact them by landline telephone. The movie Blackberry puts this right by exploring the phone’s past.

Blackberry was a precursor to the iPhone. A neat handheld device with a rubber button rather than a touchscreen phone, the Blackberry enjoyed a stratospheric rise to fame and an equally dramatic downfall. Delve into your techy heritage with this insightful and entertaining biopic.

The Little Mermaid

Everyone knows the classic tale of the Little Mermaid. As with all mermaid tales, this one is based around the mermaid’s desire to have legs and walk in the human world, motivated by love. The original Disney classic was an animation, but the 2023 version is a live-action one.

In recent years, Disney has chosen to re-make a few classics as live-action movies with mixed reviews. Mulan, The Lion King, and Cinderella are examples of recent renditions. The Little Mermaid is likely to be a popular addition to the live-action collection that is worth consideration.

Spiderman: Across the Spider-verse

Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse introduced the world to the first computer-animated version of the Spiderman universe. This spider universe is a chance to introduce some new characters and situations, and they take advantage of it by bringing in spider people from other universes.

Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse is an eagerly anticipated sequel to the recent animated series, and it promises not to disappoint. In this new adventure, Miles Moreles and Gwen Stacy again team up to meet the growing threat of the multiverse. Well worth your time this summer.

Elemental

Elements don’t mix! Fire dissolves water, and water extinguishes fire, so what happens when people from fire town find their way through the fence and explore the other side of the city? Elemental is a fun and innovative movie made by a collaboration between Pixar and Disney.

Elemental is such a unique concept and enjoyable movie experience that you won’t want to miss it this summer. Whether you are an adult with or without kids, you are all sure to enjoy the experience of Elemental. This is a movie to write home about and perhaps download at home.

No Hard Feelings

If you are looking for an enjoyable romantic comedy for the summer season, check out No Hard Feelings. This movie is a coming-of-age story that features a struggling Uber driver who accepts an unusual post on Craigslist. The job is perhaps more unusual than she might have imagined.

No Hard Feelings may not be to everyone’s taste, and it’s not for all age groups either, as it’s rated R. An R rating means the movie is not suitable for people under the age of sixteen. It might not be for the whole family, but if you’re a couple on a summer date, it could be perfect.

  1. The last time I saw a movie at the theater was in 2004. It was The Passion of the Christ. The prices are outrageous for tickets and snacks. I'll stream at home.
