When it comes to fashion, there’s sometimes an idea that clothes can either look good or feel good. However, this isn’t necessarily true. Some would say that the clothes that look best on you are also the clothes that you feel the most comfortable in.
If you don’t feel comfortable with what you’re wearing, it will come across to other people. This could be because the style isn’t something you personally like, even if it’s trendy. Or the clothes might be physically uncomfortable, so you’re constantly trying to adjust them or find it hard to relax.
With that in mind, here are some ways to dress comfortably and stylishly.
1. Clothes That Fit
It seems obvious to say, but you’d be surprised at how many people wear poorly fitting clothes. They do this for a number of reasons. Sometimes, you don’t know what size you are. Or, in some cases, different clothing stores and brands size their clothes differently. The best way to make sure your clothes fit is to try them on before you buy them.
If your clothes are too tight or baggy in the wrong places, they might not be comfortable. But they also tend to be less flattering than clothing that fits better. True, you might not want to go up a dress size, but you will look far better in clothes that fit you properly.
Another issue is that people come in different shapes. Some cuts don’t suit certain body types, meaning that you might need to get a size larger than you ordinarily would need. Fitted clothes are an obvious solution, but you can also adjust clothes after the fact, taking the material in where you need to.
2. Seasonal Clothes
One of the best ways to wear practical, comfortable clothes while still looking good is to dress for the weather. This is fantastic if you happen to love autumn fashion, but you can find something for every season.
Even better, you don’t have to have loads of clothes to make this work. By layering in cooler months, you can still keep a relatively lean wardrobe. Dressing for the weather keeps you comfortable and cosy, and even protects your health.
Also, it gives you the option to play around with accessories. You can wear hats to keep you warm or cool, depending on the season, which will also complement your outfit. Gloves and scarves are a winter must-have, and they can look really cute as well.
I always like clothes that fit properly.
