5 Tips to Make Your Smartphone Last Longer

Like everything else, tech is getting more expensive. And modern life is all but impossible without a mobile device. So here are some ways you can make your smartphone last longer.

Maintain the Battery

(Smartphone batteries that use lithium ions are notoriously unreliable. Advancements in battery tech are being made. But it could be some time before we begin to see improved performance. You charge your phone battery to keep it alive. But you need to do more than that. Experts advise that you don’t let your battery run out or charge it to 100%. Additionally, you should power off your device when you aren’t using it. However, Google “sell my iPhone” when the time comes for a replacement to make some money from a dead phone you will never use again.

Be Careful What You Install

Your smartphone is dependent on your battery. And some apps can use an unreasonable amount of battery power. Most of these apps are harmful ones that contain viruses, which will further deplete your battery. But even legitimate apps can be detrimental. Always make sure you stop background apps that don’t need to run. Android is notorious for running multiple apps that you don’t need. You can do this by entering the settings for each app and configuring them to run when manually started. Features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also use battery power.

Make Your Smartphone Last Longer with Cleaning Apps

Managing apps for battery reduction can be tedious, and you might not know how to do it. Fortunately, you can download apps for maintaining your phone, such as CCleaner. These apps let you manage background apps and turn off unused features. Additionally, they help free up storage space and RAM, allowing your tech to run much more efficiently. The powerful features of phone cleaning apps ensure your battery isn’t overused, therefore reducing how much power is drained and helping it stay cool for longer overall life.

Reset Your Phone Often

When cleaning apps aren’t enough to manage your phone correctly, you can reset it to factory defaults. Sometimes your phone can get clogged with data and apps that can sometimes be a challenge to manage. A good tip is to reset your phone every six months if this is the case. Doing this means you will eliminate anything that becomes a drain on your system. It also helps with security since any viruses or malware will also be deleted. However, you will also lose all your personal data on your smartphone, so be sure to backup your data before doing this.

Backup Your Data

You should back up your data before you reset your phone. Otherwise, it will be gone forever. However, you must back up your data before a scheduled cleaning even if you don’t reset it. Data backups mean you save sensitive data. But you can also clean the data of apps themselves to help maintain your battery. One of the best ways is to go through each app and delete the cache data. Deleting cache data means extra data that causes apps and your phone to slow down is gone for good. But ensure you backup logins and settings before doing so.

Summary

You can make your phone battery last longer in multiple ways. Some of the easiest include staying between 20% and 90% charge. Or you can manage and clean app data often.
