Three ways technology affects your daily life

Over the years, we have become more and more reliant on technology, so much that it is very much at the forefront of our everyday lives. From the moment we wake up, to the time we put our heads down, we will have interacted with so many different technologies that you probably didn’t even realize. You use your mobile phone to set an alarm and put an Instagram status on, drive your car which now has autonomous driving built-in and then use an app on a tablet to order a new set of clothes for the next day or even same-day delivery. Below we look at four different ways technology is affecting our lives on a daily basis

Shopping Habits

Our shopping habits have changed dramatically over the years due to technology. In the past, we would drive to the nearest shopping center when we wanted some new clothes. Now, when we want a new pair of vintage sunglasses from Vint & York, we can order at home and have it arrive the next day. We can even order to multiple addresses as a present for mothers day. If we are struggling to find something for our pet local, you can guarantee that we will find something online.

New Jobs Being Created

With the reliance on technology being the most it has ever been, this has opened the door to new job opportunities that never existed in the past. Data security is one of the most important jobs on the market right now. Then you have other new jobs being created in digital marketing, brand directive, online sales assistant and so on. This has led to the educational sector having to adapt how they teach in order to incorporate these new roles and skills in their curriculum. The dream job for many kids used to be being a football player, now you’ll hear them saying they want to be an Instagram Influencer or a Youtuber like Logan Paul. This is only possible due to the technological changes that have happened over the years.

Way We Interact

The way we interact and can interact with each other has been flipped upside down in recent years, especially during the pandemic. Technology allows us to interact with people across the world from the comfort of our own homes. With apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype, you can simply video call someone you have missed to catch up. This is especially useful for businesses who operate abroad and as mentioned above was very useful during the pandemic when we weren't allowed to leave the house. Then you have social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the newly introduced Tiktok that many people use. These apps do different things from allowing you to post stories, to creating quick videos and leaving statuses for your friends, family members and followers to view.

In what ways has technology affected you in your daily life? Are there any points you would like to add to the above? Have we missed something that you would like to share with our readers? Let us know in the comment box below.
