My kids are passionate about reading and they love dogs! This book from HarperCollins Publishing was a big it in our family.  “Oliver for Young Readers: The True Story of a Stolen Dog and the Humans He Brought Together” by Steven J. Carino. The story takes readers on the suspenseful ‘mis’-adventure of a little dog Oliver and the miraculous journey his owner took to find him.

A bit about this true story…Steven Carino is absolute putty in the paws of his little Shi Tzu-Yorkie mix, Oliver. On Valentine’s Day in 2019, Steven’s sweet Oliver disappeared, stolen while waiting in Steve’s car. In a series of near-impossible coincidences, people from different walks of life crossed paths with Oliver and Steven -- hardworking immigrants, wealthy suburbanites, car mechanics, deli workers, street cops, one very gifted hairdresser and even gang members all played a part in Steven’s desperate journey to find Oliver.

As the story unfolds, readers will see how the power of community working together can be life-changing. In addition, the unbreakable bond between Steven and Oliver also reminds us to be extra thankful for the connections that bind us to the people and pets that fill our hearts. Steve shares, “We all had reason to hate in our search for Oliver. But this is not a story of revenge. “Oliver” is a true inspirational story of love conquering hate.”

“Oliver” hits shelves Jan. 26, 2020 Pre order on Amazon.
